2013 Theme: Service Innovation Across The Lifespan: What Does It Take To Make An Impact?
International Initiative for Mental Health Leadership (IIMHL) is holding its ninth Leadership Exchange the week of March 4, 2013. This is not a conference but an opportunity for a small number of about 300 Mental Health and Disability leaders to meet and learn from their colleagues. You can browse the full agenda on our website. It’s not too late to join this year’s cohort.
The philosophy behind the IIMHL Leadership Exchange to link key leaders together and then provide the opportunity for them to begin collaborating and building an international partnership. The aim is to build relationships and networks that are mutually helpful for leaders, organizations and countries. The benefits of such a collaborative effort will cascade down to all staff and consumers.
These benefits could include:
The exchange process creates cohorts of leaders from among the participating countries and hosted in a different region each year. In 2011, the exchange was hosted by the US and Canada. Leaders may be government officials, provider organizations, planning and/or funding, researchers, and leaders from indigenous or specific ethnic groups, family leaders or consumer leaders. The exchange starts with a two-day visit/match and is followed with a two day Network Meeting. Each exchange occurs in a different region: Australia/New Zealand; North America, UK and Republic of Ireland, with one of the countries hosting the two day Network Meeting.
